About Us

A Warm Welcome to the Royal Oak Community Centre!

Located in the heart of the Royal Oak estate in Baguley, Manchester, offering a wide range of community-run projects. It has been in existence since the early 1930s and has an active residents' association.

The building includes a large hall with stage, dance studio, boxing ring, large kitchen, snooker room, IT suite, meeting space and an outdoor recreation area.   The snooker room has been adapted into a multi-use facility which now includes IT suite and meeting room.

The centre buzzes with activity and many groups and organisations hire the building for events, fun days and conferences.

GMAZZ Music Group has helped young people in the area to learn music skills in a 15 week programme which was part funded by Wythenshawe Regeneration Team and Manchester City Council CASH grant. Following the success of this project, more funding has been obtained for instruments including keyboards, drum kit and guitars.

Jazzy J Street Dance Group are based at the centre and provide dance workshops for young people aged 5 to 19 each Saturday. Other dance groups include Morris Dancing, Ballet and Tap as well as Ballroom Dancing groups for older people.

Our Amateur Boxing Club, affiliated to the North West region A.B.A., offers training sessions four evenings a week for Juniors and Seniors in circuit sessions, boxing sessions and boxing as a workout. All coaches hold current CRBs and First Aid Certificates.

Other activities running at the centre include a youth club, basic English and computer classes, healthy eating cookery courses, Bingo, and so much more! Many activities are  free to local people.
