During the initial
planning of your site we will discuss with you:
-
Suitable domain name
and availability which can be checked instantly
-
The number of pages
required
-
Features that you
like or dislike about web sites you have visited
-
The style and image
you wish to reflect to your target audience
-
Colour scheme,
layout and navigation methods
-
Text content based
on our 'Website Structure Plan’ to help you decide on what needs to
be said on your site
-
The format in which
you send us your content.
The time-scale in which we complete your website will
depend on the number of pages and add-ons you require and how quickly
you provide us with the site content. On average, a standard 6 page
website will take under two weeks. If you are able to send your
site content via email this will speed up the process.
Creating your site will involve the inclusion of
graphics, and possibly video or audio clips, besides the text for each
page. You can save yourself money if you are able to send your
photographs and other graphics via email; failing this, we will need
to scan them in for you, or take photographs for your site ourselves
at an additional minimal fee.
Your website content must be submitted to us within ten
days of us commencing work on your site. We will advise you of any
changes or additions that need to be made as well as discuss ideas for
improving the overall message to your target audience.
The design of your homepage will set the theme for your
other pages. Only when you are completely satisfied with its overall
layout, style, colour scheme, navigation buttons etc., will we create
your other pages. Your draft web pages will be uploaded to the domain name of
your choice, enabling you to view your site online as it develops.
Once you are satisfied with all the pages and payment is made, your
homepage will be moved to its permanent URL (website
address).
Should you wish to update your site from time to time,
or on a regular basis, you may
choose one of our maintenance service options, or, if you prefer, take
over the maintenance of your site independently. Whatever you
consider, we will be a phone call or email away to guide you into
following the path that suits your needs best.
Our
websites are designed for the most widely used screen resolution of
1024x768, though we also take the stability of design and functionality
into account at 800x600. Likewise, we design for the most widely used
browser, i.e. Microsoft IE, though also test our websites in
other popular browsers.
